Today marks my 2-year Big Chop Anniversary!
JUMP AND DANCE WITH ME!
730 days have literally gone by since I began my natural hair journey.
After almost 6 months of transitioning, I woke up that faithful morning, grabbed my kitchen scissors and big chopped.
2 Y E A R S!
The day I BIG CHOPPED
Look at me.
Embarking unto the unknown.
I had no idea what I was about to get myself into.
I figured if I didn’t like it, I could just go back to relaxing my hair.
THANKFULLY, that did NOT happen.
Embracing my Kurls with a Twistout on my TWA!
The past 2 years have been amazing.
Thank God for social media, where you are able to learn everything.
I have watched countless tutorials, which have contributed to the knowledge I am able to share here.
In addition to getting to know my hair, I’ve also inspired some of the women around me to also embrace their natural kurls.
Half of these women also trusted me enough to allow me to do their BIG CHOP and continuously reach out for tips and to share updates on their journeys.

This led to the birth of iziKurls (November ’16), where my goal is to share my natural hair journey to empower and encourage other women to embrace their birth-given kurls.
To be an inspiration, influencing women to embrace their natural beauty.
That in itself, is quite humbling.
When I started my transition to natural hair, I created a photo album in my phone gallery and on Facebook to document my natural hair journey, not knowing that it would me to create iziKurls, almost 2 years later.
This truly exemplifies following your heart and listening to that inner voice (GOD).
We often miss out on achieving milestones, taking leaps of faith as we are too busy listening to the noise around us.
Needless to say, I’m glad I listened.
I don’t know what the future holds for iziKurls but I am already excited.
I can’t wait to see what it’s store for me and all the women that will take a leap of faith and book the iziKurls Treatment.
Praying for wisdom and direction to launch more services, expand iziKurls beyond the waves of the Atlantic Ocean.
